Lancelot, in Arthurian legend was the most prominent of the Knights of the Round Table. His affair with King Arthur's wife, Guinevere was one of the tragic events leading to Arthur's death.
In both the game and the movie, Lucifer mentioned Lancelot as being among the sinners who had the potential to free him, though he claimed that only Dante's soul was "black enough".
